Das Mahlen kann die gesamte Oberfl\u00e4che der Rohstoffpartikel pro Masseneinheit vergr\u00f6\u00dfern, die L\u00f6slichkeit der Futtermittelbestandteile im Verdauungssaft des Tieres erh\u00f6hen und die Verdaulichkeit verbessern; gleichzeitig ist die Partikelgr\u00f6\u00dfe der zerkleinerten Rohstoffe f\u00fcr nachfolgende Prozesse (wie Granulierung usw.) wichtig, da der Schwierigkeitsgrad und die Qualit\u00e4t des Endprodukts einen sehr wichtigen Einfluss haben.\u00a0<\/p><p>Die Gr\u00f6\u00dfe der Zerkleinerungspartikel wirkt sich direkt auf die Produktionskosten aus. Bei der Herstellung von Pulverfutter betr\u00e4gt der Energieverbrauch des Zerkleinerungsprozesses etwa 50 % bis 70 % des Gesamtenergieverbrauchs. Je kleiner die pulverisierten Partikel sind, desto besser f\u00fcr die Verdauung und Aufnahme durch das Tier und desto besser f\u00fcr die Granulierung, aber gleichzeitig steigt der Energieverbrauch entsprechend, und umgekehrt.
