Le plateau de masse r\u00e9partit le produit dans un flux d'air r\u00e9glable cr\u00e9\u00e9 par un ventilateur interne. Les particules fines sont entra\u00een\u00e9es dans le flux d'air et transport\u00e9es vers la chambre ext\u00e9rieure, tandis que les particules grossi\u00e8res tombent dans la chambre int\u00e9rieure. Les produits en poudre fine et en poudre grossi\u00e8re sont \u00e9vacu\u00e9s respectivement par le bas du classificateur. Ce processus de circulation d'air interne et d'auto-classification r\u00e9duit consid\u00e9rablement les co\u00fbts d'investissement, de production et de maintenance. Lors du traitement de mat\u00e9riaux \u00e0 haute duret\u00e9 tels que les abrasifs et le quartz, la goulotte d'entr\u00e9e et les pi\u00e8ces internes tournantes peuvent \u00eatre fabriqu\u00e9es en mat\u00e9riaux \u00e0 haute duret\u00e9 ou doubl\u00e9es de mat\u00e9riaux \u00e0 haute duret\u00e9, selon la situation.
